Bio story

Mia Woodworth

I am a Student Therapist completing my Masters in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy at the University of Toronto. I bring a relational approach to those I work with and view clients as resourceful and resilient. My practice draws from person-centred approaches, somatic therapy, and ACT. I have over seven years of experience in frontline mental health, particularly working with behaviour regulation and people who are neurodivergent.

In practice I aim to create safe, inclusive, and affirming spaces where clients feel understood and supported. I integrate a person-centred approach to meet people where they are at, establishing a supportive and collaborative relationship. I am passionate about supporting growth, confidence, and resilience as I walk alongside people through change.

With a Bachelor of Child and Youth Care from the University of Victoria, I have a wide range of experience working with people across school, in-home and community-based settings, supporting individuals with autism, behavioural challenges, and social-emotional needs. I have volunteered at mental health visiting programs and at peer support centres, helping those by using developmental and attachment-based approaches.

I view reflective practice and relational work as central to therapy. I approach people with curiosity and compassion, using reflection to better understand behaviour in context and to tailor support. I bring a compassionate, strengths-based, and trauma informed approach to my work and value collaboration to promote meaningful change.
