Inner Child Work · In-person in Toronto and Online across Ontario

All younger parts of you still live within you.

Inner child work helps you understand and care for the parts of you that developed in response to early experiences. These parts may still show up as self-criticism, fear, people-pleasing, perfectionism, or feeling easily hurt or abandoned.

ABOUT INNER CHILD WORK

Sometimes we react from an older wound.

Inner child work explores how early experiences can continue to affect the way you see yourself, relate to others, and respond emotionally.
You may notice that you:

  • feel intensely rejected or abandoned
  • struggle to ask for what you need
  • become very self-critical
  • feel responsible for everyone else
  • repeat relationship patterns you do not fully understand

Inner child work can help you respond to these experiences with more awareness, compassion, and choice.

HOW INNER CHILD WORK CAN HELP

What We Can Work on Together:

Inner child work can help you explore patterns that may have begun much earlier in life.
  • childhood trauma
  • relationship and attachment wounds
  • sexual trauma
  • grief and loss
  • anxiety and panic
  • rejection or abandonment
  • negative beliefs about yourself
WHAT SESSIONS MAY LOOK LIKE

We work with what is happening in the now.

Inner child work is not about blaming the past. It is about noticing how earlier experiences may still live in your emotions, beliefs, body, and relationships. Your therapist may invite you to explore:
  • a younger version of yourself
  • unmet needs
  • memories or emotional themes
  • protective responses
  • beliefs you developed about yourself
  • what you needed then
  • how to relate with younger parts with more compassion

WHO INNER CHILD WORK CAN SUPPORT

Inner child work may be helpful if…

  • your reactions sometimes feel bigger than the situation
  • you feel easily abandoned or rejected
  • you repeat painful relationship patterns
  • you understand your childhood intellectually but still feel affected by it
  • you want to develop a more compassionate relationship with yourself
